Soho is where most visitors start, and it is also home to 56 Dean Street, a sexual health clinic for LGBTQI+ people that offers walk-in help for emergencies, such as HIV exposure in the last 72 hours, during opening hours (closed Sundays and bank holidays; out of hours use A&E). South of the river, the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre on Hopton Street is open Wednesday to Sunday with a café; support groups and counselling run on set days. For history, Queer Britain at King's Cross describes itself as the UK's first LGBTQ+ museum, and the Bishopsgate Institute archive in the City includes Stonewall and Switchboard records. Pride in London marches each July; in 2026 the route ran from Hyde Park Corner to Whitehall. Visitor guides also point to Vauxhall and the East End for evenings out.

- As of 2026, same-sex couples can marry in England (Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, in force from March 2014). The Equality Act 2010 prohibits discrimination because of sexual orientation or gender reassignment, including in London. Since the UK Supreme Court's ruling in For Women Scotland v The Scottish Ministers (16 April 2025), 'sex' in the Act means biological sex, and some single-sex services may lawfully exclude trans people.
