Kindrd Social
A room of our own
Kindrd Social is a social network for LGBTQ+ people, inside Kindrd. Members only, free, and quiet on purpose, with a feed you can keep to just the people you follow.

What is inside
- A feed you control. It starts on Following: only the accounts you follow, newest first, with nothing added. The ranked tabs (For you, Friends) are a tap away and explain why each post is there.
- Kindling. Stories that last one day, from people you follow — with no view receipts, no streaks and no vanity counters.
- Communities. Rooms organised by category and interest, with moderators and a way to join, so you can find your corner of the spectrum.
- Events. Put on a coffee, a walk or a film night, or find someone else's. Hosts choose who gets the address: everyone, people who say they're going, or only people they approve.
Kindrd Social is young. It is a small, careful place that is still filling up, and we would rather tell you that than dress it up as a crowd.
Built differently, on purpose
Most social networks earn money by keeping you scrolling and showing you more of whatever provokes a reaction. For queer people, the cost of that design is not abstract: ranking by reaction is a way for strangers, and therefore harassment, to reach the people least able to absorb it. So the choices here are built around control and explanation.
- Chronological by default. Following and Communities are plain newest-first, and Following is where you land. The ranked tabs are opt-in and show a “Why this?” on every post, so the ordering is never a mystery.
- Separate from dating. Your Social profile is its own face. Nothing on it links to your dating profile.
- A verified email to speak, free to read. The gate is an email address, not a payment.
- Mute and block both exist. Block is mutual; mute is one-way and silent, so you can stop seeing someone without announcing it.
- Alt text on every image. It is required, not encouraged.
- One-tap block and report, with a human reading every report.
Why you will not find it on Google
Nothing inside Kindrd Social is indexed by search engines — no posts, no profiles, no conversations. Public, searchable queer profiles are a safety cost rather than a growth win, and a link shared from here never announces that its sender uses a dating app. This page is the only public one, and it contains no member content.
Questions
Questions people ask
What is Kindrd Social?
A social network for LGBTQ+ people that lives inside Kindrd: a feed of the people you follow, communities, events, and Kindling — stories that last one day. It is members only, free, and quiet on purpose.
Is Kindrd Social free?
Yes. Everything on Kindrd Social is free and stays free. Kindrd+ is a separate, optional upgrade on the dating side; it does not buy a louder voice on Social.
Is my Social profile connected to my dating profile?
No. Your Social profile is separate from your dating profile, and nothing on one links to the other. That separation is deliberate: someone who finds you socially should not be able to tell whether you also use a dating app.
Will my posts show up on Google?
No. Posts, profiles and conversations on Kindrd Social are never indexed by search engines. Public, searchable queer profiles are a safety risk, so the inside of Kindrd Social is kept out of search on purpose.
Does an algorithm choose what I see?
Not unless you ask for one. Your feed starts on Following: only the accounts you follow, newest first, with nothing added (Communities is newest first too). For you and Friends are ranked tabs you choose to open, and every post in them has a "Why this?" that says why it is there.
Who can join?
Anyone aged 18 or over. You need a verified email address to post or reply; reading is free.
