Why Kindrd exists

The big dating apps were built for one kind of dating, and everyone else got a settings toggle. If you're queer, you know the drill: your identity squeezed into a dropdown added years later, your location broadcast more precisely than feels safe, and a business model that needs you swiping forever — because the moment you find someone, you stop paying.

Kindrd is our answer. It's an independent app — no dating conglomerate behind it — built in the UK by a small team, for the whole LGBTQ+ spectrum from the first line of code. Not a mode. Not a market segment. The point.

What we believe

Meeting people should be free, forever. Matching, messaging, safety and verification will never sit behind a paywall. Kindrd+ adds depth for people who want it — it never gates the possibility of love.

Privacy is structural, not a setting.Distance uses city centres, never your precise location. Any identity field can be hidden while still being used to match, so nobody is forced to out themselves to use a dating app. Notification emails never put a name or a message on your lock screen. We don't sell data, and there are no ad trackers.

Depth beats volume.You get a small daily set of genuinely compatible people, chosen for identity, intent and values. It's finishable on purpose. We'd rather you met one right person than swiped a thousand wrong ones.
