London Pride and queer festivals through the year

Sources checked 4 October 2026 · 8 min read

Pride in London's own site says it is returning on 3 July 2027. Around it, LGBT+ History Month is every February, BFI Flare is a spring festival (March in 2024 and 2025, per Wikipedia), Queer East listed May and June 2026, London Trans+ Pride listed 25 July 2026 and UK Black Pride says its annual event is each August. Only Pride in London had published a next date.

The short version

  • Pride in London: the organiser's home page says it is returning on 3rd July 2027. Its parade, stages and Quiet Pride pages still described 2026 when we checked, so 2027 details are not out.
  • UK Black Pride: established in 2005, with an annual event held each August in London, according to its history page. Its events page lists Blacktober Fest on Friday 16 October 2026.
  • London Trans+ Pride: established in 2019, with its 2026 march listed for 25 July. No 2027 date was published when we checked.
  • Screen and talk: BFI Flare is run by the BFI and takes place in spring, in March in 2024 and 2025 according to Wikipedia; Queer East's seventh edition was listed for 1 May to 6 June 2026; LGBT+ History Month is celebrated every February.
  • Music: Pride in London's 2026 pages listed six stages and areas, and the Pink Singers, who say they have sung since 1983, hold a winter concert in January and a summer concert in July.
  • Dates move each year. Treat anything without an organiser-published date as 'usually', and confirm on the organiser's own page before you plan.

The year at a glance

Winter, January to March. The Pink Singers say they hold a winter concert in January. LGBT+ History Month is celebrated every February across the UK, according to its own site; 2026 was the 22nd UK edition. BFI Flare, the BFI's LGBTQ+ film festival, was held in March in 2024 and 2025, according to Wikipedia.

Spring, April to June. Lesbian Visibility Week, run by the DIVA Charitable Trust, was listed for 20 to 26 April in 2026. Queer East, a festival of LGBTQ+ cinema and live arts from East and Southeast Asia and its diaspora, listed its seventh edition for 1 May to 6 June 2026. No dates for the next editions of either were published when we checked.

Summer, July and August. Pride in London says it is returning on 3rd July 2027, a Saturday. London Trans+ Pride listed its 2026 march for Saturday 25 July, and Wikipedia describes it as held on the fourth Saturday in July. The Pink Singers' summer concert is in July. UK Black Pride says its annual event is held each August.

Autumn, October to December. UK Black Pride lists Blacktober Fest, a Black History Month celebration, on Friday 16 October 2026 from 6pm to 3am at Colour Factory, 8 Queens Yard, E9, with tickets through Outsavvy. We did not confirm any other LGBTQ+ festival in these months; that is a limit of what we checked, not a sign that nothing is on.

Pride in London

Pride in London calls itself a historic LGBTQIA+ celebration and says it provides a platform for protest and progress. Its legal entity is London LGBT Community Pride C.I.C, trading as Pride in London. The organiser's parade page says the London Pride parade traces its roots back to 1972, and Wikipedia dates the first official London Pride march to 1 July 1972, organised by the Gay Liberation Front. The organiser's pages describe a parade, stages and squares, grandstands and Quiet Pride, plus planning, accessibility and travel guidance.

The next date the organiser has published is 3rd July 2027. When we checked on 4 October 2026, its parade, stages, accessibility and travel pages still described the 2026 event, so route, start times, stage locations and access arrangements for 2027 are not yet confirmed. We have deliberately not repeated the 2026 details, because they may change. Look at the organiser's pages when they update.

Two things are worth knowing in advance. Quiet Pride is described as an accessibility-led Pride in London initiative for LGBTQIA+ people who may find traditional Pride environments overwhelming or inaccessible; in 2026 it was free, with a registration form so that access needs could be met. Check whether it returns in 2027. And Pride in the City is described by the organiser as a business-focused membership initiative. The organiser also published a large-print access guide for 2026 and easy-read guides to its safe spaces, so look for the 2027 versions.

UK Black Pride

UK Black Pride's history page says it was established in 2005 and began as a small gathering organised by Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, known as Lady Phyll, and other Black lesbian activists. It serves LGBTQ+ people of African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American and Caribbean heritage, and says it has grown to bring together people from wider cultures, gender identities and backgrounds. The page says its annual event is held each August in London, with performers, stalls and talks.

The organisation does more than one event a year. Its site lists a Community Action Fund, a Black Lesbian Power List and community campaigns. Its events page lists Blacktober Fest on Friday 16 October 2026, 6pm to 3am, at Colour Factory, 8 Queens Yard, E9, with Black queer DJs, live acts and stalls, and a BSL interpreter for the live performances; tickets are sold through Outsavvy. No date for the August 2027 event was published when we checked, so use its events page for the confirmed date.

London Trans+ Pride

London Trans+ Pride describes itself as the world's largest annual demonstration in support of trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming and intersex lives. Its about page describes a grassroots, trans, non-binary and intersex-run community organisation operating as a collective of volunteers, established in 2019 as a response, in part, to a highly visible act of transphobia by a 'gender critical' group during a major Pride event. Its home page listed the 2026 march for Saturday 25 July at 1pm, starting from Langham Place, and Wikipedia says the event is held on the fourth Saturday in July.

Its 2026 FAQ said people of all ages, including parents and families with children, are welcome, and encouraged friends and family, partners and allies to show up for the trans+ community. It said under-18s should not come alone. It listed an access bloc, BSL interpreters, a hearing loop for speeches, accessible toilets and quieter zones for 2026, and strongly recommended bringing your own food and drink. Those details were for 2026. No 2027 date had been published when we checked, so read the organiser's site for the confirmed date and access arrangements.

Film, history and visibility weeks

BFI Flare began in 1986 as a season at the National Film Theatre called Gay's Own Pictures, was renamed the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in 1988 and took the BFI Flare name in 2014, according to Wikipedia, which says it takes place every spring and lists its 2024 and 2025 editions in March. It is organised by the BFI. The BFI's own Flare page redirects to its booking site, which we could not open, and the BFI's home page did not mention Flare, so we have no confirmed 2027 dates; check the BFI.

Queer East says it showcases LGBTQ+ cinema, live arts and moving image work from East and Southeast Asia and its diaspora, with venues across London; its seventh edition was listed for 1 May to 6 June 2026. LGBT+ History Month is celebrated every February, was first held in 2005 and was established by Schools OUT, of which it is part. Lesbian Visibility Week is run by the DIVA Charitable Trust and was listed for 20 to 26 April in 2026.

Music in the queer calendar

Pride in London's 2026 pages listed six stages and areas: a main stage, a women's stage, a trans and non-binary stage, a cabaret stage, a global majority stage and a family area. We do not know the 2027 line-up, and the page did not say whether entry is free.

Outside the big days, the Pink Singers describe themselves as a fun, friendly LGBT+ choir based in London, singing since 1983 and the longest-running LGBT+ choir in Europe, which is their own claim. They say they put on two full concerts a year, a winter concert in January and a summer concert in July. Their page has named Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square as the venue for a January concert, but the year on that listing was inconsistent, so check the date and ticket details with the choir. UK Black Pride's Blacktober Fest, with DJs and live acts, is a music-led event listed for this autumn.

Going to a festival as a date

Large marches and festival stages can be loud and crowded; Pride in London's own Quiet Pride page says some LGBTQIA+ people may find traditional Pride environments overwhelming or inaccessible. As a pattern, pairing a first meeting with a smaller event, such as a screening, a talk or a choir concert, gives you more room to talk, and you can save the big day for when you know each other. Agree a meeting point and a quiet fallback beforehand.

For access, organisers publish their own guides each year. Pride in London produced a large-print access guide for 2026 and easy-read guides to its safe spaces, and London Trans+ Pride's site gives an access team contact and its 2026 FAQ listed several access provisions. Look for the 2027 versions rather than assuming they repeat.

Before you go

  • Only Pride in London had published a next date (3rd July 2027) when we checked on 4 October 2026. For every other festival, confirm the date on the organiser's own page.
  • Route, start time, stage and access details for 2027 were not published. Do not rely on 2026 details.
  • Blacktober Fest on Friday 16 October 2026 is ticketed through Outsavvy and runs from 6pm to 3am, so plan your journey home in advance.
  • If crowds are hard for you, look at the organisers' access pages, including Pride in London's Quiet Pride, and see whether they are running again.
  • Tell your date the plan: where you will meet, how you will leave and what you will do if it is too busy.
