Barcelona's LGBTQ+ activity concentrates in the Eixample, where the area nicknamed Gaixample sits between Carrer de Balmes, Gran Via, Carrer del Comte d'Urgell and Carrer d'Aragó. The municipal Centre LGTBI at Carrer del Comte Borrell 22 runs services and events by appointment. Casal Lambda, founded in 1976, gives LGBTI people a place for meeting and advice, and BCN Checkpoint, at Comte Borrell 164-166, tests for HIV and STIs in a community setting. More than 40 LGBTQIA+ organisations back Barcelona's bid to host WorldPride 2030. In 2026 Pride Barcelona's final weekend was in 2026 its final weekend was 17 and 18 July, with the march on the Saturday from Plaça Universitat.

- As of 2026, same-sex marriage has been legal in Spain since July 2005 (Law 13/2005). Law 4/2023 lets people aged 16 and over change legal sex at the civil registry without medical reports, and bars discrimination and conversion therapy.
