• One thing you'd genuinely like to do with someone. It turns a profile into an invitation rather than a description.

The slow part is the point

Filtering for intent makes your matches rarer. That's not the system failing, it's the system working — you removed the people who wanted something else, and there were a lot of them.

The adjustment that helps most is dropping the expectation of volume as a health signal. Four conversations a month with people who want what you want is a better position than forty with people who don't, even though it feels worse for the first few weeks.

On not becoming bitter about it

It's easy for "I want a relationship" to curdle into a judgement about people who want something else. It's understandable and it costs you.
